The Senior Messaging Engineer is responsible for supporting the firm’s messaging platform, and relevant back-end applications/platforms integrated into messaging such as mobile device messaging, antispam, and other technologies.  Responsibilities include owning the complete messaging solution to the business and providing project deliverables and third level technical support for all infrastructure based projects including equipment installation and maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring and alerting and timely problem resolution for the firm’s 24×7 environment.


  • Job Requirements


    • Adhere to established SLAs in responding to and completing service tickets, including providing a high level of customer support, detailed root cause analysis, and trouble reports for system outages. Adhere to established departmental operational policies and procedures.
    • Act as a contact person for outside vendors during installation, production changes, and repair and/or removal of equipment or services.
    • Assist in the development of network and BCP documentation, including diagrams, equipment inventories and Departmental Procedures.
    • Provide support for all relevant projects including installation and maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring and alerting and timely problem resolution.
    • Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems and issues affecting system performance.
    • Accessible to perform after hours support duties on a rotating 24x7 basis to sustain networking systems and end user support.
    • Required Skills
    • Minimum of five to seven years of experience building, maintaining and supporting critical core Messaging and related platforms (Exchange 2013, Active Directory, Windows 2008/12, Lync, SharePoint 2013).  Familiarity in enterprise infrastructure platforms (Citrix, Cisco, EMC, NetApp, VMWare, F5, Brocade,) and cloud offerings such as Office 365 desirable/preferred.
    • A proven professional with excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and time management skills a must.
    • Strong team player who understands ownership of end to end solution to the customer is a key to success in this position.
    • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving skills required with the ability to make recommendations based on findings and best practices.
    • Proven experience in the following required:
    • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2013 and industry standard messaging systems.
    • Proactive Management of the Exchange 2013 environment: monitor system response time, server health, messages routing, PowerShell Scripting. compliance and eDiscovery, messaging data loss protection, MCSE in Exchange 2013 desired/preferred.
    • ProofPoint Hosted onsite and hosted email hygiene and security, Backup / Restores, and Disaster Recovery.
    • In depth knowledge of Active Directory, SharePoint and relevant platforms such as IIS, Office 365, Citrix, etc. is strongly /preferred.
    • Familiarity and good understanding of core infrastructure such as SAN, Network, Servers and impact to messaging preferred.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
